By Daniel Nelson

Does your skin feel dry and irritated from cheap commercial detergent? Mine did. I didn't know better; I had used these soaps for years. However, my wife gave me a bar of detergent that a neighbor gave to her as a gift. It was all natural lemongrass soap, and it was great. The moisturizing effect it had on my skin was amazing. The essential oils and native ingredients from the detergent was a huge change from what I had experienced before. I was sold; I would use nothing but All natural bar soap Fort Collins Colorado again.

Natural homemade detergent has inherent qualities that commercial detergent will never have. For instance, a style, incomparable scent and aura that catches attention, moisture and lather that matches body chemistry and the like. Furthermore, it gives that feeling of fulfillment after being able to use it.

Conventional cleansers are harsh as they are composed of chemicals. Consider the ingredients used in any conventional detergents, and you would likely find BHT, a synthetic antioxidant that preserves the oil in the detergent from going bad, Tetra sodium EDTA, as a preservative and Disodium phosphate as a buffering agent to adjust the ph. All these are chemicals used in the making of conventional soaps and are all possible irritants. Homemade detergents, on the other hand, are made of all natural ingredients like natural vegetable oils such as coconut oil, almond, palm oil, jojoba, avocado, etc. Blended to create a skin smoothing mixture with no irritating or drying effects.

To use melt-and-pour method, Prepare all the equipment you need such as the double broiler, and microwaveable bowl, base detergent, alcohol in a spray bottle, colorants, molds, and fragrance oil. Select the base detergent which can either be glycerin, clear detergent or an opaque white detergent.

There is a lot of flexibility and variety of options. You get to choose the types of ingredients that suit your needs. For conventional detergents, you would not be offered this choice. You simply have to accept what's available, like it or not.

Handmade native detergent bars are truly beneficial for you in so many ways. From the native oils, the moisturizing effects on your skin, and the incredible scents, all make for a strong reason to buy native. They are healthy for you, and the scents can be so real, you can almost eat them. Native detergents are good for you and the environment as well.

Colorants may also be added. It has to be added when the base detergent is still melting. Measure about 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon mica and pour in the bowl or double broiler and continuously stir. If bubbles are seen on top of the detergent, spray alcohol on the bubbles to clear it out. Leave it in the mold for at least a day before removing it from the mold.

As opposed to conventional detergents that are composed of chemicals, all bar detergents are organic. Their ingredients are purely organic, and thus friendly to our skin and the environment. Ensure to check them out for an amazing skin.
