Internet Marketing Companies: What Makes Super Bowl Ads Stand Out

By Paula Hess

Whether you're a football fan or a casual observer, chances are that you've tuned into the Super Bowl for at least a small amount of time. While you did this, your eye might have been caught by a number of ads that businesses spent ample money to showcase. They are successful in certain ways, as Internet marketing companies across the board can attest. For a better understanding as to why this is the case, please read on.

Super Bowl ads and commercials are successful for many reasons, including the fact that they are simply unique compared to what plays on TV otherwise. As agencies like fishbat will tell you, this goes a long way in terms of ensuring that people remember these ads for some time to come. M&Ms put out a considerably funny, not to mention different, advertisement that featured the red M&M transforming into Danny DeVito. Nothing like this was really done before, which makes it unique.

Celebrity usage is another way that a good Super Bowl ad can be made. If you watched the game earlier this year, chances are that you've seen several men and women that you've watched in other programs. These names include, but aren't limited to, Morgan Freeman, Peter Dinklage and Matt Damon. It's been said that people will watch commercials if they feature actors and actresses they're familiar with, which was true for the Super Bowl as well.

While the features discussed earlier are important, what's even more vital is the utilization of digital media. This should come as no surprise given the Internet age that we live in, so it's important to use as many platforms as possible. You can put your ads and commercials on YouTube, prior to the Super Bowl, so that you can create more interest. Make sure that they're shared across social media, too, so that you reach the maximum number of potential customers.

As you can see, there are numerous factors that go into building an ad or commercial for the Super Bowl. While the publicity of such an event is undeniable, it's important to account for the costs. It's been reported that a single 30-second commercial during this event can exceed $5 million. To say that this is a high price would be an understatement, but if you have the means to cover this, you stand the chance of reaching millions upon millions of people.
