By Karen Wallace

Raising money for a nonprofit organization is not an easy task. That is the reason that most of the organizations play it safe by using techniques that have been tried and tested. Some of the methods that are popular are direct mail, giving grants, and the use of individual giving. However, these methods can turn out to be ineffective, and if this happens, it is best that the organization tries to find other Successful Fundraising Ideas for Nonprofits that it can use.

Though the old methods are useful, these days, it seems like one has to do more if they are to raise money. Test new approaches and find out if they are successful. Though not each method will be successful for each group, the most important thing to do is to test but ensure that the charity is consistent with expanding the fundraising. Here are some ideas that the fundraisers should try.

One of the methods that can be tried is by using small donor groups. Most fundraisers know about the leading donor group, but few or none know about minor donor groups. These refer to the insignificant givers. By grouping them into smaller groups, they are motivated to keep supporting the organization and keep their giving consistently.

However, just because they give a small amount does not mean that they should be ignored. The group should have benefits that the member's twill enjoys as well as a catchy name. However, the only difference is the amount of time that you spend on meeting rather than making one each month or twice a year; you can make it once a year so that you cut on the expenditure.

The use of affinity fundraising is another method that one can use. This is almost the same as the use of major or even minor donor groups. This is where you put in a a group of individuals who will support your organization and help raise money on your behalf. The difference with using the affinity is that you will be putting together a group of individuals that have something in common. For instance a lawyer group or a young professional and make them a part of the foundation.

Another method that can be used is by using affinity fundraising. Though they are almost like the utilization of the minor and major groups, they differ in operation. Here you establish a network of individuals who will raise funds to support your body. The difference here is that the grouping will compose people will be with something in common for example lawyers and professionals.

Another ideal method that one can use is the super events. Here you call upon many small groups to hold a fundraising ceremony for your nonprofit organization on the same day and probably the same time. To make this event one, you can have the guest use the same theme. To tie up the event you can make use of conference call or live internet.

These super events work because they are used to leverage the effort that the organization makes. For instance, the amount of time that one would spend supporting host who holds small amounts might not be worth the effort. However, with the super events, it is possible to support networks that are raising money for our group and get higher returns.
